Purpose of Driving Under 25 Program

This program is intended for violators under 25 years of age.

Driving Under 25 may be court-ordered.

Driving Under 25 Goal

To reduce the number of injuries and collisions caused by drivers in the 15–25 year age group through education on driver improvement techniques. This program encourages participants to take responsibility for their own behavior in driving situations and to adopt safer driving practices. The goal of this driver improvement school course is to examine the relationship between driving, holding a Florida driver license, and fulfilling basic needs.

Driving Under 25 Course Content

  • Florida driving and crash statistics.
  • Classroom discussion of choices, values, attitudes, behaviors and consequences.
  • Discussion of Choice Theory.
  • Discussion of DUI effects, cost and penalties.
  • Discussion of what is road rage and aggressive driving.
  • Discussion of what is responsibility and responsible driving, including distracted driving.
  • Discussion of your own driving behavior.
  • Video case study.
